Hawkesbury Library Event
Getting to know your camera.
Held at Hawkesbury Library, May 9th 2024. 7pm to 9pm.
This event is hosted by Hawkesbury Library in partnership with Hawkesbury Camera Club.
Community members are invited to join us for a workshop on making the most of your SLR digital camera with tips from seasoned photographers from Hawkesbury Camera Club (BYO camera). All ages welcome.
Terms and Conditions:
- SMILE! Your attendance at events supported by Hawkesbury City Council may be digitally recorded through photographs. Images may be used for promotional purposes on council’s websites, publications, social media or by newspapers.
By attending this session you agree to these terms. If you do not wish your image (or the image of your child) to be published, please notify staff before the event.
- By registering and attending this event, you are agreeing to comply with the Hawkesbury Library Service Patron Code Of Conduct.
- Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult to all Library activities.
- If you are unable to attend please cancel your tickets as soon as possible. This will enable others to participate in the programme.
- Paid tickets are not transferable.

Volunteer Members from Hawkesbury Camera Club will on hand to assist at the workshop with instruction and support of attendees. Members will assist attendees during the practical exercises aimed to facilitate learning outcomes. Members have experience in various brands and models of cameras.
Hawkesbury Camera Club Members will be approached via separate email to volunteer to assist at this event.

Editing Workshop
Workshop – Lightroom & Photoshop Beginner
Saturday May 4th, 10am to 4pm
Richmond Club
This workshop is designed to help beginner photographers edit photos in order to submit into competitions, internally and externally.Photographers will work their way through importing images from camera, to filing and keywording, then to editing in Lightroom. Photos will then be taken into Photoshop to finish and to add an extra dimension to them.
Participants require a licensed version of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop installed on a laptop the on the day. If you have concerns about your software please contact the organiser prior to booking. This is a hands on practical workshop and therefore numbers are limited.
Sample images will be supplied on the day to facilitate training, however members can bring their own images to work on or to receive assistance with should time permit.

OUTING
METAL SHOP PHOTOWALK
This event is for Hawkesbury Camera Club Members Only.
If you would like to join our Club please visit our website.
Members will have two (2) hours of exclusive access to a local Hawkesbury Metal Worker’s Workshop. We will have the opportunity to capture images of sparks flying, welding flames, along with portrait shots of the metal worker at work & finished artworks.
Thinking out side the square this is an opportunity to learn and practice new and different photographic techniques. Images can be used for future competitions or components of composite images. Under the limited lighting conditions of the workshop members may be tested in order to capture images.
Spaces are limited to 6 Members. Space is limited in the workshop due to size and safety purposes. This is a ‘hot’ workshop and members MUST wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

PhotoWalk Hawkesbury Show 2024
This event is for Hawkesbury Camera Club Members Only. If you would like to join our Club, events or have questions about us please feel free to reach out to one of our Public Contacts.
Join Us on Saturday 20th at the Hawkesbury Show for a PhotoWalk around the event.
Start at the Photography Exhibition at 1:45pm. View the Exhibition including the Junior Section and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. At 2 o’Clock we will begin to amble through the show photographing other Exhibits, Stalls, Arena Events and Sideshow Alley.
Members will have the opportunity to shoot portraits, slow shutter and detail images.
The PhotoWalk will provide many options for members to capture images for future club and external competitions. There will be plenty of opportunities for members to ask questions and to learn new or refine their techniques.
Members will be required to purchase entry tickets to the show. Tickets can be purchased online prior to arriving at the Showground. Please allow plenty of time for parking and walking to the Photography Exhibition.
Group is limited to 10 Members for Safety Reasons as stipulated by Hawkesbury Show Organisers.

Outing – Postponed!!
Photowalk at Hawkesbury Hornets BMX
Event Postponed!!!!
Due to the track and club house currently in flood this event has been postponed to later in the month possibly.
Thank you to members who emailed with their intent to attend.
A limited number of Hawkesbury Camera Club Members have been invited to attend the local Hawkesbury Hornets BMX Club for an up close and adrenaline packed photowalk.
Due to safety numbers are limited to six (6) Camera Club Members. Members will have the opportunity to get up close to the track, riders and officials. Photographers will be able to shoot from all angles and many positions along the track inside safety fencing.

When: Sunday April 7th 2024
Where: Colbee Park
Bismark St, McGraths Hill.
Start: 10:30 on site, ready for briefing.
(Eastern Standard Time, Daylight Savings end!!)
Duration: 2 hrs.
Safety: Please wear closed in shoes and possibly bright colours as we will be on track and visibility is important. Hat and sunscreen if needed, plus water.

Photo Walk!
Impromptu Richmond Photowalk
Members and visitors are invited to join an impromptu Photowalk on Wednesday 27th March at Richmond.
Meeting at 6:30 at the Grandstand in Richmond Park. Sunset is 6:58pm.
We will roam around the park and streets as a group but not on top of each other, shooting as the sun sets. There are many compositions to be captured as well an opportunity for asking questions.
Photographers of all levels and experience are invited to join the walk. Visitors are invited to join us to find out a little more about the Hawkesbury Camera Club. Members are invited to bring a friend or family who is interested in photography.
Stay as long as you like. Once the sun sets we will no doubt play with long exposures and night photography.
No RSVP needed, just turn up and stay as long as you like. We will be ther rain, hail or shine (darkness!).
